This fabulous house, forms part of an enclosure called the “Enclos Fiorio” and access to the property is shared with the house in front.
Please note that because there is an unfenced river running through the property and the design of the house is not suitable for children, this is an adults only bed and breakfast and children cannot be accommodated.
The house is a 5 minute walk from the centre of Limoux, a lively medieval market town with a population of around 10,000 people,a 3 month carnival and a famous white sparkling wine, Blanquette de Limoux, first produced in the 12th Century by the monks of the Abbey of St Hilaire.
There is a breakfast room which overlooks the large terrace and a library/lounge for guests.
On the second floor are four double guest bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. The largest bedroom, has French doors leading to a private terrace and large bathroom with a bath and separate shower.
The garden of the property, which is about 1000 m2 in size and is bordered by mature trees, has some lovely sculptures and several stone benches for sitting.
On one side of the property runs the river Cougaing and there are steps leading down to the river.
Palazzo Fiorio is a wonderful place for a relaxing holiday – your choice whether to go out sightseeing or to sunbathe on one of the sun terraces, followed by a swim in the pool, depending on the season.
There is secure off street parking for guests.
Limoux is a beautiful medieval city, with the longest running Carnival in Europe ( each weekend - January through April) .
Enjoy the soothing thermal mineral springs in the spa towns of Alet-les-Bains and Rennes-les-Bains - 20 minutes by car.
The village of Rennes le Château, with its mysteries and the ruins of the Cathar castles are some of the most popular attractions accessible from Limoux, as is the medieval cite of Carcassonne– again - 20 minutes away by car. There is lake swimming at Lac de Cavayere in Carcassonne, with a sandy beach, boat rentals, volleyball courts, and an adventure park.
There is clean, safe, river swimming throughout the area.The fishing, swimming, white water rafting and kayaking is terrific throughout the region.
The Mediterranean is an hour away with it's beautiful beaches, fishing villages, and golf courses. The hiking and bicycling trips through the wine fields and hillsides are outstanding. It is the training area for Olympic, Tours de France, and Professional Cycling teams from many nations.
The Spanish Border is 2-hours away by car . The Pyrenees Mountains and principality of Andorra is an hour away, with many notable skiing and winter sports areas.
